“Laoniidu is a piece of farmland located in the extreme northeast of Estonia. Its area is 2.2 hectares. It is used to grow crops like wheat and corn destined for local consumption, transformation, and international export. In order to preserve the health and quality of the soil, the plot is not intensely cultivated. When in fallow, grass grows freely on the area, which the farmer harvests at the end of the season. The grass is then fed as haystacks to the cattle.”
